What would you like to know?
What is included in the Jewellery Cleanse & Polish service?
Each piece begins with a careful assessment before being professionally cleansed and lightly polished using methods suited to its material, stones and construction. We also review settings, clasps and the overall condition of your jewellery before completing the service with a gentle hand finish.
Do you use ultrasonic cleaning on every piece?
No. Every piece is assessed individually before cleaning begins. Ultrasonic cleaning can be effective for suitable jewellery, but it is not appropriate for every gemstone, finish or construction. Where required, we will use a gentler cleaning method instead.
Can you clean jewellery with diamonds or gemstones?
Yes, in many cases. Diamonds and gemstones each have different characteristics, so the appropriate cleaning method will depend on the stone, setting and overall condition of the piece. Our team will assess your jewellery before proceeding.
Can pearls, jade or enamel jewellery be professionally cleaned?
These materials require particularly gentle care. Pearls, jade and enamel can be sensitive to certain cleaning methods, moisture, heat or chemicals, so we will assess the piece first and select an appropriate treatment. If professional polishing or deep cleaning is not suitable, we will advise you before proceeding.
Can gold-plated or gold vermeil jewellery be polished?
Plated and vermeil finishes require a lighter touch, as abrasive polishing can gradually affect the gold layer. We will assess the condition and finish of your piece and adapt the cleaning process accordingly rather than applying the same polish used for solid gold or sterling silver.
Will the service remove scratches?
A light surface polish can soften minor signs of wear and refresh the jewellery’s lustre, but it will not necessarily remove deeper scratches, dents or significant surface damage. We prefer to preserve the integrity and character of your piece rather than over-polish it.
Will my jewellery look brand new afterwards?
The aim is to refresh your jewellery’s natural luminosity rather than erase every trace of wear. Each piece responds differently depending on its age, material, finish and condition. We see professional care as a thoughtful renewal — not a complete resurfacing of the piece.
What happens if you notice damage during the service?
If we identify a loose stone, weakened clasp, damaged setting or another issue requiring more than cleaning and polishing, we will let you know and guide you through the appropriate repair or aftercare options before additional work is undertaken.
